The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, founded in 1909, is New Orleans’ largest predominantly African American carnival organization known for its iconic Mardi Gras day parade and the most sought-after parade throw, coconuts.

No city in the U.S. is like New Orleans, and Mardi Gras is a specific example. Yet, during carnival season, one event attracts both locals and visitors: the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club’s annual parade.

Started in 1909, the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club is the Crescent City’s largest predominately African American carnival organization. Over the past century, they have gained a reputation for their elaborate, theatrical events paying tribute to members’ heritage and also for the painted coconut throws tossed into the crowd.

To celebrate carnival season, New Orleans Roast™ has developed a coffee inspired by the Zulu Club’s annual festivities. Since 2008, we’ve continued the city’s historical coffee traditions and, along the way, have introduced flavors and blends inspired by its culture and individuality. Our Zulu Blend pays tribute with a bright and smooth medium roast with a balanced finish.

Savor it during carnival season or any time of the year with this convenient 12-count set of coffee pods.

For a limited time only! 12 cups/box.
