Zulu Coconut
Zulu Coconut Coffee from New Orleans Roast™ captures a taste of the carnival season. One of our most popular seasonal flavors, this medium roast coffee is layered with notes of coconut for a unique flavor profile that taps into our city's rich history.
The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club was founded in 1909 as a way for the African American community to pool resources in times of need. In the century that followed, the group has become New Orleans' largest predominantly African American carnival organization, bringing much anticipated elaborate floats to the annual Mardi Gras day parade. They are famous for bestowing on crowds the most sought-after parade throw - coconuts that are often colorfully painted.
Inspired by theater, the Zulu tradition started from humble beginnings with costumes designed to pay homage to African ancestry. The group's history is illustrious, at times colorful, but remains an integral part of New Orleans culture and Mardi Gras traditions.
Our New Orleans Roast™ Zulu Coconut Coffee is a seasonal offering that's only available for a limited time, so get yours today. One sip will make you feel like celebrating!
